I also read in the winchester info ,you were only suppose to shoot what it said on the side of the barrel --..22 short shot .22 short ,so on and so forth . so that rifle said .22 LONG RIFLE , but the box of ammo he has pictured is .22 LongYeah, that doesn't make sense. I'm gonna see what the latest date is on mine.

I dont understand it my self -- that guys gun has one marked May 30 1911Yeah, I'm confused. Mine shows patent dates of June 20, 92. Dec 5 92 and Nov 27 08.
Why would they put an 08 patent dates on a rifle built in 06???

Patent dates on barrels not matching publish manufacturing dates.
Example, my Winchester 1890 serial number was built in 1906 according to Winchester published dates, but has a 1908 Patent date on the barrel.
