    I'm thinking we should use them in long guns, and just leave pistols open to slide-lock and revolvers cylinder open.


    That works we also use a piece of spent brass, instead of a chamber flag, at Eagle creek to show a gun is clear. don't forget some pistols don't have slide locks. (Walther P22 for example)

    Are you sure? Pretty sure my P22 had a slide lock/hold open
