only one way to find out if they would not like you shooting a piece of in the back yard is to try it and find out.
hence the follow up that said you could interchange it with ACT's basic pistol class.I would say a basic handgun class then, not specifically the NRA one. I'd rather take a basic handgun class from a defensive school or a competition school and NOT the NRA. I'm sure you're paying for the fact its an "NRA" course and you'll pry get more out of your training dollars somewhere else.
