Still raining here. Off and on it rains really hard. I did some fertilizing yesterday so this is really good for the crops.

    What fertilizer do you use...???

I have to get up on these things. We just put the dirt in good nic and plant.
For the corn and onions, I used 10-10-10 from the garden store. For the tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, squash, etc. I usually get the organic tomato fertilizer.

You can use 5-10-10 on the tomato stuff, but then you might have to add some calcium or magnesium as well.

All mad science stuff to me.
I told the spouse we need to get on top of this next year. We always put leaves/grass trimmings/peat moss on the dirt and turn it in. Seems to do OK.
I never checked the Ph but might want to start doing that. I did move the plants around in the plot this year.

If everything is bearing good, I wouldn't worry about getting the pH checked as it must be okay.
Peat moss can make the soil more acidic as can oak leaves, so you have to be cautious on adding too much of them. You can always add a little lime to the soil to even it out. I mulch around my plants with grass trimmings and turn it in at the end of the season. It helps conserve moisture.
