Howdy ACT, how's the shift going??

Didn't start yet.

Yesterday, didn't even start the caster all day.
So I did my daily checks, then my midnight checks and had a slow day.

Started the shift, they had 3 loads in the system, steel from the blast furnaces to the casting lines.
They were only making enough steel to run caster 2a, 2b, and 2c.
No metal for us.
End of the night, there was only 5 loads in the system.
So, not enough to start us up. It would have run them down to zero loads.

Depends. Doesn't like too much sitting.
So I have to sit for a while, then move around.
But, it is nice if I don't have to do any work at ground level, or lifting 50 pound hydraulic cylinders.

I'm kinda fortunate. My job is pretty nice, for being in the mill.
I have crappy jobs. But for the most part, I'm paid for my brains and my ability to diagnose a complex instrumentation and control problem.
Sorta like "House" on TV.
