    Just captured and released a wolf spider that was every bit of an inch and a half across with legs extended. He had one heck of an attitude too!

    And you didn't smoosh it???

    Nope. Put a cup over it then slid a piece of paper under it and let it go outside. I normally don't mind smaller spiders in the house because they help control other unwanted bugs but this one was big enough to create an uncomfortably bite for a person if it wanted to.

    We once had a cat that lived here. He liked to "play" with spiders. He got bit by a larger wolf spider on his paw once. It was swelled up for a few days.

    I have an outside cat that has been bitten by those spiders several times. She ends up with a huge abscess that bursts and makes an awful mess, and then she ends up on antibiotics to get rid of the infection.
