I've made it a point to try the local beer in every country I've been to.

That's pretty much our (well, MY) MO in a new location. The locals in the Dominican were actually pretty good (seemingly) people, but even there we barely ventured off the resort.

When I was a kid. I know a lot of people in DR. Did you miss the conversation a few weeks ago between myself and Trigger about a girl I know her and her family, she's in law school there. The family tried to set me up with her sister years and years back.

Get some chocolate rum while you are there. It's really good stuff, imagine a chocolate milk shake with lots of rum. White rum will be about 160 proof there, it's STRONG stuff.

I'm not ready to hit Cuba just yet. Wouldn't mind some cigars, though.
