Better earn some respect first or your coffee will have an additive to it :):

There are leaders I would follow to the gates of Hell, and those I wouldn't follow to the bus stop. If you become an Officer which leads by example, you won't have a very illustrious career. But you will have troops that will follow you anywhere.

    no celebs on subs.

    Except you, man!

Yeah it's a shame. Of coarse I like many others didn't join for the money.
hell when we joined up (pre-9/11) most people joined up for free college. No one could have imagined that fateful day in September. It sure did change everything. I was on the ground in October.

    I was in 85-91.
When a girl asked if I joined for the college money, I told her I joined to defend my country.
She laughed. Thought it was "quaint, and old fashioned".
    Bye.

    *must resist* :runaway:

That's good advice re: leadership. I've always told myself (no matter what arena it may be in) that I want to be a leader, not a boss. Hope I can convert on that in the real world

I was a smidge too tall to be a pilot, and yeah, the BMI is not just broken but fundamentally defective. I would run about 35-36, morbidly obese, but sink in a swimming pool because of low fat percentage. Probably been best as a designated marksman or a sniper. Up to 2007 I was recommending the military to my son; helicopter pilots, mechanics, whatnot have a solid career base, then there was the GI bill for further education. The way it is now, I recommend strongly against it, since it's being run by the enemy. He's physically similar to me as well.
