Thanks, Me too. I have a handheld device now for home so as long as I keep my numbers in range I will only have to go in once every quarter.

Nice! I wish they'd let me give myself my testosterone injections (once a month). Doctor's office got tired of all the extra regulations for storing it on their premises, so now they make me get it from the pharmacy and bring it in to the office. So I can be trusted to buy it, and store it, but not to give myself the shot. Darned silly if you ask me. I tried to assure them that I wouldn't be trying to set any major league baseball home run records or anything. :):

I had to do the last 4 tests on myself using their equipment before they would issue me my own device and supplies. I ve only been getting INR checks for the last 10yrs :n00b:.

Crazy though, you would think after you went to get it & stored it you could inject yourself. Guess they dont make as much $$ that way though :dunno:.

Right? And when I get my insurance statements, it shows that not only have I paid for the testosterone myself at Walmart, but the doctor's office also bills them for the testosterone. I see it as a separate charge from the office visit (doesn't cost me anything, but still).

So you pay for the script and then the Dr. charges them a 2nd time. Anyone see an issue with this?

That's the way I'm interpreting it. Now I could be mistaken, but I see the charge of $40 for the office visit, and then it says "Prescription medication" with a $70 charge. I suppose it's possible that the way it's coded, it could mean "administration of prescription medicine", but it's not at all intuitive. And for the record, I like my doctor. Been going to him for about 35 years.

    Oh and howdy rk! :)

And to be fair, I believe them when they say that the restrictions on storage of controlled substances is probably a PITA, but if I don't have any such restrictions, one has to wonder if those restrictions are really necessary, or just more .gov control issues. I suspect it's the latter.
