Maybe what's up.Anyone know anything about water heaters????
No, I just do it to annoy you.Tyler, do you ALWAYS feel the need to answer others' questions? I know you know everything, but MrsG could have just as easily not cared what color.
Anyone know anything about water heaters????
Thanks Gary, your a great help.
There is a valve at the top of my electric water heater. I think it's a pop-off valve to relieve pressure. There is a puddle of water around it and on the floor around my heater.
I don't have the heat settings too high, I have never changed them.
youtube to the rescueThanks Gary, your a great help.

I wonder if my control unit is going bad and causing the heater to overheat???
just helped the neighbor replace his early this week. I say we because it was just hard for him to take it off. Took him and I to hold the heater while hubby got it off.You used to be able to buy just that valve, I would try that if the leak persists or gets worse.

best bet would be a plumbing supply house. I doubt Lowe's or other big box would stock them. You used to be able to buy just that valve, I would try that if the leak persists or gets worse.
Sam, Are you at home were you can go and look at the water heater?
Thanks Westside.
You couldn't find any of those DIY videos with the babes in nighties explaining how to fix something????
Screen names only on the forum, please.Sam, Are you at home were you can go and look at the water heater?
Yes I am at home, and no the water hasn't been hotter. It was cooler when the wife showered a little while ago and when I went down to check the unit I saw all of the water from the pop off valve.
Thanks Westside.
