I got out and dusted off the old 3d printer. It has been sitting for 3 years or so. she runs just fine. I adjusted all the idlers and such. I am amazing it did not need a bunch of work.

I have some project cases I need to design and print. I will post some pics soon.

I had a roll of PLA media that was still on it. I figured it would be junk but nope. I spooled off 10ft or so till I got to some media that was not brittle. It seems to print fine. I am amazed. All my media is 3-4 years old. I ordered some new stuff. But I am not going to waste this stuff if it prints ok.

Is anyone else printing anything interesting?

I'm not doing it currently because I'm not willing to kick off a Form 1 right now, but the FTN.3 pack of rifle rated PLA suppressors dropped last week and it's incredibly interesting. The old fiberglass wrap is out and the new ones are designed to be expoxied onto a genetic carbon fiber tube. The designer also chose a couple of flash cans and made designs to press and epoxy them into the suppressors for a QD solution. They're printed horizontal on the bed for radial strength.

In NoNFAistan it is now possible to self produce reasonable durable cans for as little as $10 for a direct thread.

I just bought a S&W 22S and can't find replacement recoil spacers in stock.

I found an STL file online and purchased a copy but I don't have a 3D printer.

Anyone willing to make these? If so let's negotiate.

My printer crapped the bad a few weeks ago. Swapped tons of parts, nothing.

Ordered a new one, should come today. Supposed to be more plug and play which will be nice

    What did you get?
I have a bamboo x1C now and HOLY COW is it a lot easier than an Ender. I’m on the last 24 hours of an almost 5 day print right now and I’m not even worried anything will go wrong. Lots of wasted purge filament when printing multi material, but far less wasted filament from failed prints.

I went with the Bambu P1S

I've already been watching on how to change the settings in the Bambu slicer to minimize the purged filament and printing a larger catcher for the waste

Yeah, I upgraded from an Ender 3 to a P1S last year, and the difference is like night and day. My one gripe with Bambu is having to use their proprietary slicing software, but other than that, there's just nothing to complain about.

yeah, I thought about that too. But for some of the specific functionality I'm sure you kinda have to.

Although I think it's open source, and I remember reading somewhere that someone has their own version that keeps up with some of the features of Cura.

Yeah I’ve had mine for about 6 months. I haven’t done purge calibration because I switch between so many colors, depending on what I am printing. The speed of this thing makes me go through filament like crazy. It is almost always printing something.

Also, orca slicer is what you are thinking of. It is supposed to be like a crossover between bambu studio and prusa slicer I think. I have it, but haven’t tried it yet.

Now that you say the name, I think I've heard of orca slicer, but didn't know/remember what it was. I'll have to give it a try.

Printed any upgrades for it? I already have the dry box additions for the AMS downloaded, as well as a larger waste bin.
Yah, a two into one adapter for the AMS so I can easily do an external roll, rack for the AMS, poop chute, and concrete/foam anti vibration base. Upgraded lighting.
