If you've seen it too, why did you say you didn't believe Indybeerman was called it? And if it can apply to anybody, it's no longer race specific so anybody should be able to use it, correct?
And what do you mean probably the same for you?
Honestly, call me dang near anything I won't have a problem with it. Although the reverse isn't always the same. I went camping with a guy from work and his family years ago. They were Hispanic, we got down there late and I found out it wasn't just "his family", his brother and his family and a couple of other of his relatives and their families. Since we got down there late while they were setting up I cooked dinner for my coworker and his family and his brother came by and had a burger because their was extra, then set up myself since I had a lot less to set up.
We were sitting around the campfire later and his brother had ran out of cold beer and had been drinking mine for the last hour, no big deal I brought plenty. He looks over at me and says "You know you're pretty cool for a cracker", I blinked and while not offended I was just a bit annoyed. So I replied back, "and you're pretty cool for a spic" with a pleasant smile on my face. To put it mildly he was not pleased. Several of his family got between us and kept him back and a couple of others came up to me and started asking me if I knew how offensive that was and on and on. I said yes I knew, but I was a bit annoyed that the guy that just at my food and had been drinking my beer for the last hour called me a cracker. They didn't quite get it at first.
And another question, why did you spell out redneck, but censor all the other ones? And what is c-by? Chubby?
I've seen blacks using the N word towards blacks and whites, Kut above states that he has as well. So I'd say in the present day your client would be correct.
Indybeerman’s story makes no sense. People in the hood, call EVERYBODY the “A” version. I think he heard wrong. I’ve NEVER seen it used in such a fashion, and unless he’d like to disagree, I bet I’ve heard WAY more usage of that word, across multiple places, than he has.
As far as the word “cracker,” I understand you being annoyed. The guy shouldn’t have said it. You are justified in being upset. But get this. That slur was created by white people. It wasn’t assigned from someone outside the group, it came from within, back when white people held just as many prejudices against their own (ie poor whites, Italians, Irish, Catholics) as the did with other minorities.
I spelled out “redneck,” because the filter allows it. You will find numerous instances of that word? As well as other slurs for white people used on this site, often used with pride. The other words i used would not pass the filter. Oh, was trying to reference “see you next tuesday,” as a slur women kinda jump in your ass about, if you’re a man and say it.
