Here's a good analogy I like to use:

Would you let your pre-teen child get breast implants? If not, why is it OK for them to try and change their gender? That's a more invasive and permanent procedure than implants.

True, but even the staunchest of wackos generally will agree that giving a 5 year old breast implants is pretty inappropriate.
