Had a little carb attack yesterday at Rural King. Bought some new work boots and just had to walk past those bags of kettle corn, cheese corn, corn corn corn. Almost made it until I read the "birthday cake flavored kettle corn".
Yep a thousand calories, a million carbs, guaranteed diabetic coma induction on the spot just opening the bag and sniffing it.
I walked right past it and never even picked it up, until we were at the register. Sent the wife back to "Just get the LITTLE bag and we'll split it."
I'm still sticking with the not-quite-Keto diet
True Keto for me would be about 50grams of carbs. I sometimes am in the KETO range but most days I stay outside of KETO but still well below 100grams for the day, which is still a low for carb intake.
I'm comfortably in the mid-180's and 6' tall. Look a bit flabby but the arthritis issues are limiting my workouts so flab is a by product
I do pure carnivore to lose weight but also dirty carnivore for some variety. Fresh veggies cooked, a slice or two of pizza once in a great while, restaurant fajitas but not the rice, beans, or tortillas. Sticking around 205 at 6’3” and could lose more. My wish is about 10 pounds but lost about 50.I'm still sticking with the not-quite-Keto diet

You are going to have to change your name to "Tactically Trim"Also: It's a good kind of problem, but I now have a literal huge pile of clothes on my bedroom floor. Stuff that no longer fits me.
Bunch of shirts, shorts, and pants. I've got another close buddy who is also on the weight loss journey (also courtesy of modern chemistry and pharm!). He's asked me to hang on to some of those things for the possibility that he may be able to wear some of them.
And I went through more of my older clothes not too long ago and literally found like 5 pair of pants that I'd kept from "before" that fit me again. So that's nice. I'm not prepared to say that the pants I'm wearing today are old, or that I'm old, but there's a pocket on here specifically designed to put a stick phone into...
Maybe just Tactically Fluffy...?You are going to have to change your name to "Tactically Trim"
Awesome day today. Sunday sucked though.
I'd been feeling too good to believe for a couple weeks and Sunday trimming a tree one limb fell strangely and the end ripped two giant skin tears, one on each hand. Just about made me sick just looking at them and then I had to walk home and clean them out myself. Soapy water, rinse, wipe and finally used a little brush to get the last little bits of nasty dead tree bark and dirt out so I could fold the skin back over it. Dope it up and bandage. All my help and people with the good, young eyes disappeared just as soon as I pulled that first silver dollar size hunk of skin back to wash the dirt out of it. I was on my own from there.
All their "encouraging comments" were working on my mind ever since Sunday until I had a regular diabetic check up appointment today. Got them to check those out as soon as I walked in and confirmed no infection. "You did a good job on those. Just put this on them and wrap until it quits seeping and then you can leave it open to the air if you want." Ahhh, it was like the magic gaze had graced that and I'd get to keep my hands.
Everything else was awesome! A1c down from 8.6 to 6.1. BP a little high but considering.
204 pounds so over all weight was down some BUT considering the meat I've been packing on with these weight routine workouts I'm calling that fantastic. Waist is going down, that is the real story far as I'm concerned. I could wear 36's now but I've got dressers FULL and closets full of 42's 40's, 38's. XXXL, XXL, and XL and now I'm wearing out the same 5 shirts that are all just L.
I feel better, stronger, younger than I did 15 years ago. Everything took a dramatic turn for the better when I couldn't take the leg and foot cramps every hour all night long every single night any more and I cut all my Atorvastin/Lipitor in half from 40mg to 20mg.
