Wellllll....I could be the "don't bring me problems guy."

But this is just because I see the SAME PROBLEMS from the same people 5-6 times a year!!!!!

    Didn't you learn the FIRST 12 times???:wallbash:
That's like a griever at work, that told me she spent 90 percent of her time defending the same 5 people.

My thing was always, if I don't know how to fix something it doesn't mean I shouldn't escalate a problem to management to ensure it would get resolved. Sometimes a problem is outside of your ability to resolve, for multiple reasons, but it still needs to be brought to the attention of management so no one gets bit in the butt over it.

If I had the ******* solution, I'd do it *******.
I've met electricians at work, that spent many hours changing lightbulbs.
And instead of changing a light bulb, they tell the boss the light is out, should they change the lightbulb.

So, I can see both sides.

Working in instrumentation and electronics, in 30 years I had ONE boss (for a couple years) that knew my job.
I spent the majority of my time explaining the solution, what I needed, what had to happen, to my bosses.
Assuming it was too big to fix on my own and telling him after the fact.

A ladle preheater had a thermocouple go out. So the boss sees me walking out with parts, then back to the shop to replace a broken fitting. As I'm going back to the preheater, he asks me what's going on.
I told him the T/C went out on the Homestead.
He said he didn't even know it was down
Well, in 15 minutes, it'll be working.

Then I've seen bosses that JUST KNEW BETTER than me.
So, we spent hours changing stuff that had NOTHING to do with the problem.
But he swears he's seen it work in the past.
