Ronald Reagan was a radio sports caster in the 1930s in Des Moines IA. One day he was broadcasting a Chicago Cubs home game. Reagan was still in Des Moines but a play-by-play was being sent by telegraph in Morse code to an operator in Des Moines, who would type the message on a piece of paper and hand it to Reagan, who would re-create the play by voice. At one point the connection dropped and instead of telling the audience Reagan basically winged it for several minutes by making up a series of foul balls until a connection was reestablished.
Word is, that same fruitcake is around somewhere today.
I was laughing, thinking how I painstakingly label and put Christmas stuff away.
And then I remembered dad and I building new 'trees' that I should have built in June
