    If you look at the un-fired rounds, it almost looks like the rim was bent very slightly forward. Like the rounds aren't going all the way into the chamber, and when the pin hits the rim, it bends it.

    Well, of course. The Ruger 22-45 is a PISTOL. Those rounds are .22 Long RIFLE.
    I know .22 long pistol rounds are hard to find, but you should use the proper ammunition if you want your gun to work properly.
    My local gun store gets me the special pistol rounds; they cost only $2.00 more per box. (They don't make special containers for the pistol rounds so the store has to use a felt-tip marker to cross out "rifle" and write "pistol" on the box.) It is worth the extra cost and trouble to get the proper ammunition.

    More like sad, but true.

    Troy Bilt used to be the finest name in roto-tillers (I have a 1976 Troy-Bilt Horse). Now it's just one more old name used on MTD mowers.
