Stevens 12 gauge pump-- July 4th before 1st grade so I had just turned 6-- laid the butt stock on my shoulder so I could pull the trigger. Knocked me on my ass, but I was hooked.
My grandfathers bolt action 22 winchester rifle, went to my uncle. I was lucky, he gave it to me. Shot a lot of rats in the chicken house with bird shot back when we were kids. Our first form of big game hunting.
A .22 single shot bolt action (or atleast that's how we were shooting it), scoped. unfortunately i do not know the make/model. It was up in the mountains in new york with my grandpa at the hunting camp he belonged to. i was probably 8 years old. still have one of the bullets we dug out of the log backstop.
The first gun that I shot was a Winchester 1904 bolt action .22 short rifle. It's the family learning gun. The first pistol that I shot was my dad's Colt Woodsman .22.
I kinda did it wrong the first gun I shoot was a ar15 for about 6 rounds but then I jumped straight on a .50BMG at the SKS shoot. So I basically went from no experience to one of the largest guns Ill ever shoot. I want to try the 50 BMG again prone instead of kneeling.
Like most American boys, a BB gun. Then an octagon barreled gallery gun in 22 short. I don't remember the MFG any more. My dad still has the rifle. I'll try to remember to ask him next time we talk.
The first gun I fired was my uncles .22 High Standard H-D Military.I was 6 or 7.He has been gone for almost 30 years now but i still remember that day. When he passed my aunt asked me if there was anything of his that I would like to have ,I asked if I could have the H.S.I still have it and would not part with it.
