Huh? I did not define a democracy. I talked about the attributes of a socialist country, and asserted that Sweden is not a socialist country. But anyway, China is still a communist country, with public ownership, but with an additional market system that is private-ish.
Anyway, what I described IS the whole pie. Obviously a nation with a primarily capitalist free market system, that also has a lot of social programs, implies a high tax rate and welfare programs. That doesn't make them a socialist country. Many Swedish business owners have called for Bernie to stop calling Sweden a socialist country. Denmark's PM said Bernie should just shut the **** up with this socialist nonsense (paraphrased).
Bernie has gotten away with this bull**** where he claims what he wants is to be like the Nordic "socialist" democracies and claims they're socialist and are doing fine. And they themselves say they're not socialist. And they're not. They do have free markets. Their economy is primarily capitalist. People own property privately. You could say they're a social democracy in that they have a lot of social programs. But to claim that they're socialist is not correct.
You go from the USA to Sweden and spend a year and then tell me it isn't what republican Americans would call socialism. Go ahead. I dare yah.
If you can't afford the time commitment, watch a couple of seasons of Lilyhammer [sic]. Besides having one of my favorite guys star in the series and despite it being Norway rather than Sweden, you'll get the idea.
