I hope the same people that did the warranty work for samspartan aren't the quality control crew for the US made P10's....

No kidding. Sam got a bum deal, really hope CZ/DW treats him right over that debacle. They've already had a chance to make it right. I'd like to see their next move being a BNIB replacement.

Which reminds me - CM if you see this - who locally carries the Permatex assembly lube you recommend?

Wow, this wind sounds like the Big Bad Wolf trying to blow down my house of straw!

You aren't wrong Hopper, the wind here in Versailles is crazy loud just now.

Sam is getting way screwed IMHO - that slide they mucked up is beyond professional.

It's going to be interesting to watch for me as I've had the hots for a .45acp Specialist in SS.

    Good Morning WTB.!!

Morning HB and Hopper. Yep, I'm lusting after the same 1911, so I'm curious how things go. I'm also interested in an American made P10, so I've been watching YouTube videos to get an idea of the quality of what is coming out and so far it looks good. Hopefully that will be the case.

Any automotive supply should have this. The red moly based Permatex. Slick as snot and maybe a bit slicker. A bottle will last you a lifetime if you are not using it building engines.

We have to install a het pump today and this wind is brutal.

We live in the middle of a perfectly flat cornfield, so it is breezy on a still day. It sounds like a wind tunnel outside right now. Great day to venture south for a meet.

You will have 5-6 targets to hit plus any misses (and we all miss some) and will repeat this 3 times without being able to reload empty mags.

    1. Since I have 17 rounds in a mag, I suppose that won't be an issue with hitting 6 targets (unless I'm totally a bad shot, but I suppose I'll go really slow my first time out).

At my range on Monday night steel we are allowed to reload mags while others shoot. Have extra mags in case something happens and you don't have time to reload before the next stage.

    2. I don't have but just the 3 mags, and I don't want to buy more if I don't know I'll want to continue doing this, even though it sounds like a riot, much better than range paper targets.

I have been shooting in production class which limits you to 10 rounds in a mag and sometimes we shoot 4 strings so I will go to the line with at least 5 mags. I have never used them all but I would not be comfortable without more extras than needed.

    3. I guess that means if you miss with the 10 rounds, that "string" is done and you get credit only for what you have it that string.

Also keep your mags and extra ammo in a bag separate from your cased pistol as you can not open the pistol bag at all unless you are given the 'make ready' command (unless you have left your squad and gone to the safety table where an empty gun may be handled).

    Short version...buy some extra mags.

KJ may be better able to fill you in on the specifics of FNS at the range you are going to. I think I linked the FNS Rules in an earlier post for you.

    4. I remember reading some rules somewhere but don't remember a link you sent: I'll go back and look for it: thanks! Maybe it came after I went to bed?
    5. I truly appreciate your time in this, I'm really looking forward to having this fun in retirement.
    6. While working, Friday night was not good (date night), but in retirement my wife will probably be glad to have the peace for an evening.

Morning! No joking on the wind. I’ve heard tornadoes quieter. Lol

    1. In Wanamaker, I woke up to electric having gone out around 6 or 6:30, with everything trying to come back on but lights blinking for needing reset.
    2. I have a gun to go pick up today, so I hope it's not so bad as to scare the seller away from traveling an hour+/-

There are tons of videos on YouTube. Search Friday Night Steel.

    1. Will do, of course, and have given a peek, but I went to bed last night.

    Yep. Do this

    2.

Note: yes, they were there and the ones I had glanced at, but I went to bed. Thanks again!
