They have to discover it first.

An instructor once told me "Are they frisking you or making you walk through metal detectors? What's worth more, your life or your job, you can always find another job".

    Just food for thought.

Just as I stated in a post about CCW triggers - it is all about risk analysis.

I work from home and am always armed as my wife once said that she would never divorce. Then followed up by saying beating the murder charge would be easier...I think she was joking?

Yep, I get that. I've also read Mas and other experts recommend only carrying where allowed. I look at both sides and have made my decision to carry when I can, but that doesn't include the workplace since they prohibit it. I do have a gun in my car, but the walk from the parking lot to the building and back and my time in the building is without a firearm. It's a pretty safe area, all things considered, so I feel pretty confident I'm fine. I still prefer working from home where I don't have to be disarmed though.

I completely understand. You guys know this is something that I've discussed more than once in here and how I feel about it. I HATE being disarmed.

Completely agree with you. I wish I worked in a field where I could choose to carry, but I don't. The absolute best scenario for me is that I get a permanent work from home position sometime soon so it's no longer a concern for me ;)

As a teacher, it is strictly prohibited and if caught: immediate dismissal.
My best friend at work thinks I'm totally stupid for having a gun at home where he read more people wounded themselves with a discharge than from an intruder.
He googled and showed me stats from the FBI where it is more dangerous in a home to have a weapon than if there is not, and I think it was in the context of homes with kids present.
There is the old expression: "there are lies, damn lies and then there are statistics."

Where I grew up no one ever got shot at home from a gun, although occasionally/rarely there would be a suicide using a gun.
I get so mad when trying to discuss anything about firearms with him that I just don't do it.
He has a neighbor that is ex-military who refuses to have a weapon in the house, and that is all the proof he needs that we don't have a need to protect ourselves.
I have tried to tell him some facts about such things, but since the media will not reveal the truth about how armed citizens protect themselves, others and even the police, he will continue in his "knowledge" and I just pray that he never is confronted by the evil people who roam free.

He is amazed that someone of my maturity and intelligence can be so stupid.
I just tell him where I grew up around guns such "tools" are just another part of real life.
The teens would load up and go hunting all by themselves, and nothing was thought of it.

I do not tell him that my foster Dad, a very religious and devout man, had an assault rifle at home.
I only knew about the 12 gauge shotgun when I lived at home.
When I was in college (in Arkansas) and early youth, he would buy extra handguns off me if I was selling them.
Just thought it was normal till I moved to the city and was around the "enlightened intelligentsia."

Funny, I never got my carry license until I moved to the city here in 1985: I wasn't walking around downtown w/o being armed.
I remember when I worked at the hospital, in the late 80s and early 90s (which will remain nameless), I would check in my carry weapon (.38 or .380 or .25 or .32, or shamefully: maybe a small .22) with Security at the front desk, and they would put it into the safe, or I'd just leave it in the trunk: point is, I asked what they preferred, and they preferred the safe in case my car got broken into.

A couple of questions for you on this.
The short reset kit - According to CGW you need to also get the reach reduction kit if using SRS-1 or SRS-2, but the Phantom uses SRS-3, does this mean that it doesn't need the RRK?
Also the barrel bushing - Do you see a big difference with accuracy with this upgrade?
    Thanks!

I had the same question when I checked CGW's site out. Best to give David at CGW a call and let him know what you are doing and he'll let you know what you need. The bushing is needed on a case by case basis. Some guns come with a tight tolerance stack, other's a loose one. If you are not happy with the accuracy of your gun, it's worth going this route if there is a bit of barrel slop. Not all guns need it but there are a bunch that do.

That's his reason and that's fine.

He is amazed that someone of my maturity and intelligence can be so stupid.
People could say the same for him.
If he doesn't want to have a firearm that's fine, if he does that's fine too. He has given his two cents and now he needs to shut his pie hole.

Like MCAPO, it's all about risk analysis for me. What do I risk if I take a gun to work vs. what I risk by not having one. The answer is as personal of a choice as is choosing a spouse. It's definitely not a one-choice-fits-all situation. For me, the risk of detection and the impact of detection can have a huge impact on my families wellbeing so I do take those into account. The end result is that I carry pretty much everywhere except for where prohibited by law or loss of a job. For instance, I carried to the Speedway a week or so back because the impact of being spotted had no long term impact to my family. Now, if it were a pro-Trump rally held in an elementary school and I was going as an official representative of my company, there would be a lot of life impacting results that I would feel if I were spotted carrying.

Hey wt .... I see that you're online right now. I know that you haven't shot my P220 yet to see if you even like it, but it seems like there are a lot of great sales right now.
    Check out this one: https://www.cdnnsports.com/220r-45-scorpion-elite-fde-ns.html#.WzE2uadKiUl

It lists the weight as 31.7 oz., so it must be an alloy frame, although they don't state that in the description, which I think is odd. But anyway, it's different than mine, but good looking, IMO ! :)

Dang...my LGS just send me a note for a SW 629-4 Classic (pre-lock), target sights, 6.5", one owner, no box, hogues. $750 with a pile of ammo. 100% condition.

Anyone help talk me out of this? It does fill a hole in my modest revolver collection...though I have significantly exceeded my 2018 gun FUNd budget.

Nothing I will CC at a restricted site....on the other hand, I've seen MM CC a 500 SW.

    I am so confused...

Confusion is the starting point for all knowledge ! :):
I'd probably buy it just for an investment if I was you ..... although as a shooter, the 6.5" barrel holds no joy for me. Either give me a snubby, a 4" barrel, or a LONG barrel that's for handgun-hunting.

A holster update: just received an email from Stoner Holster, saying my IWB for my RAMI will be done on July 16th ..... so I'll receive it a bit earlier than expected. JOY ! :rockwoot:
I have high hopes. I mean, if Birds Away says that their holsters are good-to-go, that holds BIG weight with me.

    Yea - that's a testimonial!

I haven't even seen a confirmation on mine. Hope the P365 striker doesn't break before the holster arrives.

That's pretty sweet looking. I almost bought a Scorpion version of their 1911 back in the day and now they're hard to find. This looks like a good deal, around $100 or more off the lowest price I can find elsewhere. What did you pay for yours if you don't mind my asking? I see a similar gun with dark wood grips for ~$930 @ https://www.sportsmansoutdoorsuperstore.com/products2.cfm/ID/204074.

Timing is everything. Sometimes opportunity and timing don't do too well together. What if you get it now, but you keep it in your safe until 2019? I'm seeing a grey area where perception and reality are swirling around...

Valid observation. In the past, I fell into "collector grade" firearms. Ya know - Box, never shot, etc. Got tired of safe queens. I have sold those off and am now returning to the ones I miss but this time buying shootable and modestly collectable examples.
