What about a P07? Nearly identical size, still in production (unlike the P-01 omega), omega trigger.HELP! Anybody have a lead on a CZ P-01 Omega for sale? If already tuned up by the Wizard, all the better.
My daughter has absconded with my PCR. But after we attended a defensive pistol class this past weekend, she now knows the difficulty of manipulating a pistol with right hand only controls left handed. It appears that the P-01 Omega is the ticket for me to get my PCR back into my stable.
I with you when it comes subbing work out. I'm not a happy camper when I pay a professional to do something figuring that I'll get a better job only to find out that I could have done just as good or better myself. The convenience factor is the big thing. When I ready to do something I want to do it.Cerakote, required equipment and appropriate sandblast media has been ordered. I bought the best/recommended spray gun they offer and 6 colors. Just need to pick up a digital electric smoker (for curing) locally along with some acetone and a few other small items. I was going to use my toaster oven that I used for rust bluing, but it will be tricky getting parts in there, plus the electric smoker will let me do larger items like barrels and long handguards.
I hate subletting work out. The local guys want too much money, AllenM is 2.5 hours away and most importantly I believe I can do this. One nice thing is it won't be as labor intensive as carding off rust by hand for days. I have a few practice pieces to use prior to doing the real thing. And I plan on cerakoting damn near every gun I have.
Unfortunately, I have been disappointed by many businesses in my short time on this rock. I've always figured it's better to screw it up myself than to pay someone else to screw it up for me. On many occasions I have reminded myself of why I have trouble trusting people.I with you when it comes subbing work out. This may be the solution to get her the ambi controls that she needs. What about a P07? Nearly identical size, still in production (unlike the P-01 omega), omega trigger.
If you want to try out a P07 I or I am sure several others here would be happy to meet up some time. This may be the solution to get her the ambi controls that she needs.
FWIW, she did fire my P-10C alongside the PCR and chose the PCR. The PCR had (in her words) less recoil, a better feeling grip, and a better feeling trigger. Since the Wizard has performed his magic on the PCR, I get the trigger comment. The aggressive texture on the P-10C is what turned her off to the grips. There's just a little over an ounce difference in the weight of these two pistols; recoil shouldn't be an issue.
So for now, I'm on the hunt for the all metal ambi version of the PCR.
If that fails, I'll try the P-07, but I have this nagging feeling that unless the replacement is nearly identical to the PCR, she won't be giving up the PCR.
** sigh ** ... I've raised a firearms snob.
