Love working in the garage on days like today. Warm enough to have the door open and cool enough to keep it comfy.

Lathe had a missing latch that keeps the back gear engaged. I was using a bungee cord to keep the knob pulled out as a temp fix. Used the mill to assist in making a replacement latch out of metal I already had. And for a spring I cut down a detent spring from an AR. Winning.

*Engaging the back gear is how you get really low rpms, like for cutting threads and such.

Making parts for the stuff that makes parts, is what I got from that. Pretty cool. But that's coming from me, the guy who looks to fix most things with some zip ties.

While at the range saw this. If I were not driving a new to me convertible this would have followed me home. 2 mags, all the backstraps, looks to be very lightly used all for $375. Thats a lot of gun for 375. Let me know if you are interested, don’t think it will last long at this price.

Need the soil temperature to be above 50 degrees for the mushrooms to pop..... probably another week.

I'm still in my sleeping bag. Non-insulated cabins get cool on a 40 degree night.
    The day holds promise !

That tent was just above bearable Friday night. Agreed on the pop ups. Should be a famous week for such.

Remember they do have layaway. Give them a small amount today and then in a few weeks complete the sale.
I know, but the gun fund is at $0.00 right now. Been spending $ upgrading/modifying pistols recently. Hopefully another will come my way once the fund is funded. Mrs. B2V always says things happen for a reason and in their own time. Meanwhile had a great day running errands with the top down.

I guess a future upgrade has now turned into a repair. The motor on the lathe took a crap this evening. Sounded like it had a rod knocking. Found the shaft was delaminating where the front bearing is pressed on. Looking at the guts, I'd say it's been on borrowed for a bit. Also explains the issue I had yesterday where the motor took several flips of power switch before it started up (just like a flat spot on a starter in a car).

I wonder if there's a local shop that could rebuild the motor.

That's going to take more than a zip tie to fix.
