    It's called: PROPAGANDA..................and I'm tired of it.
My thoughts as well. The war propaganda is picking up steam quickly. The globalists have found a new dragon to slay. The people need to be reminded of how much they need the Federal security apparatus.

Equally possible is a US-lead disinformation or false-flag operation designed to help further erode civil liberties.

If you're wrong, then it's further evidence that our slippery slope into facisim is heavily greased. In light of recent events like Fast and Furious, a False Flag operation is not inconceivable.
The Feds have already performed so many False Flag operations that it is my default assumption that they are just continuing their old tricks.

Use the on-off switch on the inter- / intra- net thingie.

Don't walk away and leave that switch "on." A very scant wire should be the only entrance to the max-computer, and it should be monitored at all times. Obviously I am no computer genius, but locking a door seems a simple procedure to implement, considering the potential disruption at stake.

Most high-security networks have an "air gap" - meaning no physical connection to ANY other network, including the internet. It is still VERY easy to get a virus/worm/hack across that air gap. Just find a person willing to take an unsecured device (disk, USB drive, CD, DVD, whatever) to the secure network. If I recall, that is how the Iranian network was compromised. It would be a piece of cake to do it in a less secure environment, like a power plant.

The weakest link in ANY security is still the people. No matter what high-tech measures you put in place, "social engineering" is still the easiest way in.

    ^^This^^

I have a buddy who makes a great living doing a couple of security audits/year and then implementing fixes. The social hacking is always the last loop to be closed.

I don't believe anything I hear or read from the media anymore. Their number one goal is to alarm people in order to boost interest and attract more reader/viewership.

Perfect example from the news Monday night...a worker in a Village Pantry was held up by two teenagers and shot and killed. The whole story focused on what Village Pantry had not done to prevent robberies and protect workers. The problem however is much more serious! How did two teenagers acquire a weapon to commit the crime? They never even once focused on the teenagers having a gun but instead focused on the heartfelt story of the poor individual who was shot and more so Village Pantries "lack" security measures to prevent another attack. My point...the news severally slants the information they provide to you just to make you paranoid, feel sympathy, feel endangered ect.

What ever happened to factual reporting....then I can draw my own opinions. The media much like our government is totally corrupted now days.

I have a theory that really effective password policies are a big part of the security problem.

If you show me a password policy that requires the password to have 16 characters including numbers, capitals and symbols, and it changes every few weeks, I'll show you a bunch of post-its stuck on monitors and under keyboards that have the password printed on them.

What cave have you been living in for the last 20 years?:): (Maybe we all need to go live there...)

I'm amazed anything useful (or remotely true) makes it to the public these days: we're either being manipulated for political reasons, or for profit' sake.

It gets more readers/viewers, and has the added benefit of persuading people to be just a little more scared and acquiesce to more government control.

Citizens should be offended by the media and government working hand-in-glove to manipulate us. Whether someone made a 'boo boo' or not on the initial report.

Time to scale back all the paranoia.

    Truth.

"Today Americans would be outraged if U.N. troops entered Los Angeles to restore order; tomorrow they will be grateful! This is especially true if they were told there was an outside threat from beyond whether real or promulgated, that threatened our very existence. It is then that all peoples of the world will pledge with world leaders to deliver them from this evil. The one thing every man fears is the unknown. When presented with this scenario, individual rights will be willingly relinquished for the guarantee of their well being granted to them by their world government."

    - Henry Kissinger in an address to the Bilderberger meeting at Evian, France, May 21, 1992.

    Irony.

You do the same thing everyday with your posts here. You manipulate in the same grand manner, fashioning your posts with the same scare tactics, the same embellishments, the same bald-faced falsehoods.

Is this a case of "the end justifies the means" or "do what I say, not what I do?"
