Thank you to all who have taken the oath.

Prayers for the families and especially the children left behind.

As a side note, veterans take advantage of the discounts and freebies offered today. Lowes and Home Depot usually have some fairly good discounts today. Personally I love the free car wash at Mikes, thats the best.

Don't forget that if you're serving or a DAV with an ID that you get 10% every day from Lowes and Home Depot. I've saved a good bit of money in Lowes over the years with just the flash of my VA card.

Yes, correct. And depending on the cashier, he/she may also give you the 10 percent off even if you are not active duty or DAV. I give them my old ID everytime, and some take it. . .and some dont.

Veteran's Day is a nice recognition for our Veterans. It's nice to be appreciated for the service to our country.
Don't just do it on Veteran's Day please. Look around and notice the Veterans that need a big thank you on more than just one day a year.
Thanks to the businesses that offer a free meal or a discount on their services or product. Please look around at the Veterans that need it more than just one day a year.
Remember what a 19 yr old kid has given up to serve our country and our freedom. He's never going to run again, hold a girl with both arms, or even be able to see his wife or children again.
Veteran's Day is definitely a day worth recognizing. Please understand what a Veteran is and why we show appreciation. OUR VETERANS will never be appreciated enough.

Thank you to all our Veterans. I am glad our Veterans have at least one day a year to be honored, they deserve it. I personally want to thank my dad who served in the Army for 23 years and survived the Korean and the Viet Nam wars. He is my hero for sure.

I went to a Veterans Day program at the school today. Patriotic music, videos and readings by students. They then lined us up in the hall, and the student body came by one by one to shake our hands. Then, there was the free lunch. We sit and have chicken and noodles brought to our tables. The kids really put on a good program. I love living in a small rural community.

To all my brothers and sisters who have served, I thank you for all you have done. God bless.

On September 12 and 13, 1918; 250 000 allied soldiers fought during the battle of Saint Mihiel in France.
Among those 250 000 soldiers 216 000 were Americans led by General Pershing.
4123 of those US soldiers are now resting on those grounds.
