Yet there are lots of unhappy rich people.
It can't buy you happiness, but it can help you more easily be happy. Money in and of itself won't do it.

Money can't buy happiness, but being poor can make you miserable. The money can remove an obstacle to happiness, but the rest is up to you. It's not that money can't buy happiness.
It's that meeting basic needs and wants grants happiness.
The government bought the debt a long time ago. The lenders already have their money.Let the government nullify the debt, but do not use tax dollars to pay the lenders. Let the lenders eat the loss. This should be as acceptable as taking money from my pocket to pay the lenders.
I would expect everyone eligible to take advantage and wouldn't blame them a bit for it.Honestly, if I hadn't already paid my loans off I would probably take advantage of the program too. After all, I've been working and paying taxes so this is partly my money, I'd just be getting some of it back.
Being a DINK, I'm pretty used to getting ****ed by society and the .gov. Welcome to our world. It makes you angry when you are forced to think about it.I would expect everyone eligible to take advantage and wouldn't blame them a bit for it.
But what about all of us who have been paying our taxes just like you and won't see anything?
There are more than a few here that didn't vote for him?I'm noticing that more than a few people whose 'principles' wouldn't allow them to vote for Trump have 'principles' flexible enough to want that 10 grand and not care too much about the dirty details
I'm surprised Biden hasn't moved to buy stoner loyalty with legalization yet, it would be cheaper. Maybe saving that for '24, plus the added debt dovetails with the desire to destroy American exceptionalism
As I posted upthread yonder (Post #319), I have hope that the donkeys have overplayed their hand. I've spoken to more blue-collar folk since that post, some retired and some not, but all who admit to voting straight "D" because, well because union, dammit. An admittedly small sample size of 20 or so, but they all are *pissed* at this; many of whom have told me that they won't be voting donkey this year. Pissed enough to vote elephant? No way. But certainly pissed off enough to stay home. I'm hoping. It dawned on me that in the 3-D political chess world some political analyst might have found this a win-win situation.
Buy votes with proposed debt relief, get more votes and energize your base when 'selfish conservatives' attempt to shut this BS down
Should ask those union Dems what the F the Dems did for them.As I posted upthread yonder (Post #319), I have hope that the donkeys have overplayed their hand. That’s all they have ever done for any of their constituents. Lip service to the AA community, lip service to the lgbrqbbq, lipnservice to the unions etcShould ask those union Dems what the F the Dems did for them.
Cause I was in a union, and seemed like the Dems only paid lip service to them.
I pointed out a few things they appreciated, but were done by the Repubs.
And there are apparently more than a few who, though talking the balanced budget/taxation is theft talk, are perfectly comfortable taking the $10k stolen (by their lights) from other hardworking people and not walking the walkThere are more than a few here that didn't vote for him?
If you think that suicide is caused by unhappiness, then you have no idea what unhappiness is.Do you need a list of rich people that have committed suicide? Singers, comedians, actors...
Being happy in the moment is not the same as being happy.
Man, I really like that. Hadn't heard that one before. Very true!Money doesn’t buy happiness, but it sure can rent a lot of it
So much about the Dems falls apart under a little scrutiny. They claim to be the party that cares for the poor, but the whole college thing is mostly a redistribution of wealth from those who are too poor to go to college to those who receive the government loans and funding of public universities via taxation. The Dems always champion federal funding of higher education in all its forms. As I posted upthread yonder (Post #319), I have hope that the donkeys have overplayed their hand. Wasn't that in a Weird Al song?Money doesn’t buy happiness, but it sure can rent a lot of it
At this point, isn't everything a Weird Al song? ....not that I'm complaining.Wasn't that in a Weird Al song?
