stubborn barrel nut

DPMS barrel nut seems to be torked on, any suggestions?

Propane torch, may have some loctite under it although it should have grease.

Leverage... Get a breaker bar

I had a DPMS barrel nut so stuck I cut it off.

With the wrench on it (side that engages all the teeth) take a hammer and give the wrench a couple sturdy blows.

The sudden jar/shock usually does it


Heat may be an option too

Heat and a breaker bar. I have had dpms with locktight

If using a breaker bar, be sure to hold (or have somebody hold) the armorers tool securely to the barrel nut. If it slips, you could break some of those teeth or smash a digit.

Yes this. You do have to careful when using the breaker bar. I usually keep one hand on the barrel right next to the wrench providing sideways pressure.

If you don't want to torch it try pb blaster and a heat lamp, worked for me last week.
