Rhino thanks for the info, that sounds like a blast. I will make it a point to get to one before this month ends. I live in anderson, any matches with in 60 so miles of me? I practise drawing and shooting in the back yard but not at multiple targets I could use some off that. Ultimately it would be nice to use all my guns but I will shoot the first one with my M9 :D

Atlanta Conservation Club is probably the closest club to you. Atlanta Conservation Club: Home.

    Their schedule is:

First Sunday - IDPA Pistol - International Defensive Pistol Association
Second Sunday - USPSA pistol - United States Practical Shooting Association
    Third Saturday - steel challenge
Fourth Sunday - USPSA 3-gun (alternating months)

for all you steel shooters and potential steel shooter: it has been proven, once again, that a new gun with even newer sights is the wrong choice for a match.

we now return you to regularly scheduled program.

I was able to capture the manually-operated .22LR crown only because the shot timer wasn't registering Coach's lever-action on the last stage, so he took 120 seconds. That's means I probably beat him with my lever gun by about 0.01 seconds. He was rocking the lever gun! :D

We need to split rifle and pistol in the future... you and your cheater gun cost me a match win!

    And I'd do again!

You're right about separate divisions. I think Coach is planning to split them next time. Maybe it will encourage more .22 rifles to play.

We have more divisions than a band competition now! :)

We will split the rimfire into rifle and pistol next season. I swear.:)

I can win the iron sights with my pistol against Mr. Bolt action. Suck it up and harden up a some.:D

Coach - Thanks for working with my son during the steel match. He had a great time.

My pleasure. You are welcome. I am glad he enjoyed it. We all had to start somewhere, and he is getting a good early start.

I swear I'm gonna make it out there one of these days. Work & family stuff have kept me away all year. The shoots are the fist Saturday of every month right?

I've never done any competition shooting before but think steel matches look like a blast! I'd probably be shooting my 1911. How many rounds/mags would I need to bring?

    Thanks
    T
