When you see things like this I'd like to see the officer serve the same length if time in jail of those that were falsely accused and jailed
Alcohol/drug-free time and probation? I would argue it needs to be stiffer than that. Simple OWI is a C misdemeanor in Indiana. Add endangerment and you can get to an A, but that's usually to get defendants to plea down to the C.

False Informing is a B, and I would argue that it significantly hampered a law enforcement process, so an A misdemeanor.

A MA is still probation in most jurisdictions, so let's ramp it up to full perjury, which is an L6 felony. An L6 in my county will get you time served, usually 2-4 days, and supervised release at the top end.

Now, Perjury and False Informing convictions are gonna make darn sure he's not a cop again, but it still feels light.
