Compared to single stage press it's night and day. With the auto drum dropping that accurate there is no need to use the single stage press even for match rds.I love the auto drum. That with the LCT definitely speeds up my process.
I've had pretty good luck using my freezer in that situation. The coefficient of expansion/contraction for brass is 50% higher than steel, so sometimes 24 hrs in the freezer and an appropriately sized dowel rod will do the trickI loaded 400 rounds of .38 Special, night before last. 148 grain wad cutters over a medium load of Unique.
Loaded a handful of the hollow base wad cutters backwards. Heard that from an old timers, to make poor man's hollow point ammo. They were pretty spectacular on plastic bottles of water.
Last night I started prepping some .308 Win brass. Full length resized and de-primed 400 pieces. Stuck a case in my die so I had to work a little magic on that situation for about 20-30 minutes, after I pulled the rim off.
Couldn't get a dowel rod inside the case, due to the design of the de-capping rod. Can't get the rod out without removing the de-capping pin and collet from the bottom side and some a-hole had stuck a case in the bottom.I've had pretty good luck using my freezer in that situation. Precious metal.Turned this ... into this.
Got my 38/357 dies and a 158gr mold today. Stopped by Brian's and got some powder and some 125gr hardcast bullets to try. Both my cattleman revolvers shoot way high with factory ammo with the exception of the buffalo bore 180gr outdoorsman. I figure the weight played into that. I'm going to load trailboss titegroup and universal tonight to try.
