9mm ladder loads ~backwards~ How slow can I push a 147gr out of a G43? 3.0gr WIN231 feels like a .22LR. I’m working on a low recoil project for a new shooter.
Also I did 182 small primer 45ACP (5.3gr GreenDot/230gr LRN) for the next FNS. Fingers crossed I don’t have hay on the ground.
I've been loading 38 special 125 grain powder coat with accurate #2 and .223 55 grain with Ramshot TAC. I need to run some 9mm 115gr on my Progressive press soon.
Cranked out 1,200 more rounds of .40 S&W using BBI coated 180 gr. and WST. That exhausted all of my clean .40 brass, so...
I processed 4 loads of .40 brass through my FART wet tumbler, and will process 3 more loads today. I figure while I am at it, I will probably clean a few more loads of .45 ACP brass.
Next up, my least favorite task... .40 bulge busting using the Redding G-Rx die. I hate this step!
Finished 80 rounds of BlackOut, "Light" loads of IMR 4227/125 gr. SpeerTNT, probably for target practice and to see if I can save powder in the future.
Also some "Mid" loads with 15.7 gr. IMR 4227/150 gr. Hornady Interlock. Plan to chrono these soon and when time permits, ballistic gel.
Made a few 38S&W rounds which were shooting 496-538fps with a sd of 18 based on a 5 round string. Having some issues with the lee 3 die set so if anyone has used the lee 3 die for 38S&W not special and uses the coated Missouri bullets shoot me a Pm. I don't think I'm getting the right amount of flare and I'm not 100% sure if I'm getting a good crimp when seating the bullet. I usually use 4 die sets but I guess they don't make a lee factory crimp die for 38S&W. I also have never had any issues with lee expansion dies on any of my other calibers.
I upgraded to wet tumbling with stainless media and lemi shine, and now ALL THINGS must be bright enough to cause blindness in direct sunlight.
I'm working on a load for the Garand right now. Planning to test 46, 47, and 48 grains of Varget behind Hornady 150 FMJ BTs. If I can find a chrono to use, the intention is to settle around 2600. Also working on pulling bullets from an unfortunate learning experience with primer pockets not drying fully.
I made 25 with LilGun and a 240gr XTP for a friend taking a fishing trip in bear country. Not sure what that load would do to an angry bear, but it should make plenty of noise to scare it off.
Also replenishing my supply of plinking loads, TiteGroup and 240gr LSWC.
I've been focusing on precision 308 rounds recently...down to a .381 MOA Been lots of fun. Also been casting and either lubing or powder coating bullets for 9mm, 45 ACP, and 45 Colt. Really like prismatic Powders ....just coat much better than any I have tried from Eastwood. These really cut down on the smoke and leading is non-existant!
