This thread is about AOC lying about almost being murdered. It has nothing to do with sexual assault.

The division is wide because one side refuses to accept lies and the other embraces them. When the truth begins to hold value to everyone we will see the country come together. As long as one side continues to use lies and misinformation to bring about change it is going to continue to be a divided nation.

I generally agree. But I would also say that it’s obvious both sides value truth (I’m not talking about politicians or partisan leaders). They think what they believe IS the truth. You believe as honorably as you can that Trump won the election, for example. That doesn’t mean the people who don’t believe that want don’t value the truth. They simply believe that Biden won legitimately IS the truth. And they think it’s you who doesn’t believe the truth.

So the thing that would allow us to come together isn’t going to be that we all unite under the same “truth”. I don’t think that’s realistic short term. First we have to get to the point where we no longer think people are evil just for believing something different.

I don’t think that any of this particularly shocks anyone, it’s just so frustrating to see the clear media manipulation, duplicity and lack of comeuppance.
