Just finished up this classy old house gun. It's a 1947 Ithaca 37. Cut to 18.5", new Marbles Ivory bead installed and a home made sidesaddle. Nice and light and handles wonderfully!
And now the 590A1 18.5" except with 7+1 capacity and a 6 round mesa shell holder.
Man trimming springs in that tight of a +/- range is trying on my patience.
I rather like the end result, just a smaller more police-style version of the 20" gun. Only losing a bayonet lug and 1 round of capacity, for less weight and 1.5" less barrel length.
I once read that they are to be used when shooting around a corner, that the hook wraps around your arm...I tried it and it makes sense, although I was not man enough to pull the trigger and dislocate my shoulder.
Just got my 870 back from Bell Precision in Greensburg. Joe is a great guy and a true craftsman, rare these days. Job was done on time and on budget.
Cerekoting in Magpul dark earth, Magpul slide and stock which is actually great for recoil, custom cut vent rib barrel with new High Viz sights and he did a awesome work on the trigger and slide action, smooth and crisp. A Nordic +2 extension in on order to finish it off with a brace, mount and sure fire light.
