Hello, this is Mary, Scotts wife, he has asked me to reach out and post what is happening with him in hopes someone would know where he might get some help. A bit of background; in 2017 Scott suffered two strokes which left him unable to communicate well but he regained the use of his right side back 100%. He also has had four neck surgeries and still has severe chronic pain. But last January his right ring finger and pinky finger seized up and they did surgery to release a pinched nerve which he fully recovered from and was able to use his hand again. Fast forward to April he was out mowing the lawn and came in in pain and his right hand had seized up on him. We have done all kinds of tests, and they ruled out a knew stroke; he spent several days in the UC hospital where they loaded him up with enough pain meds to knock out a horse with no help.
Last week we went to the Cleveland Clinic where he had yet another bunch of testing. He was diagnosed with Dystonia and they said that he needs botox injections in the hand to try to get the spasm and pain under control, but they could not do anything while he was there and to find someone local. I have been asking all over and no one is getting back to me, or they don't do the procedure and have no knowledge of who does. He also need therapy from someone who specializes in dystonia or he will lose the use of his hand. Also, now his right leg is having similar symptoms. If anyone out there has any ideas we would really appreciate any ideas or input. We live in Batesville Indiana and trips to Cleveland are very hard on Scott.
I also wanted to let everyone know that though you don't hear from him much because of his condition that he is on INGO a lot, reads your posts and really enjoys hearing from you.
