CDNN has vgs-excellents w/hogue grips for 350+20 shipping + FFL. They also have G to VG w/o hogue grips for 330+20 shipping + FFL. I recently got a 5906 and went with CDNN - some surface scratches (mostly holster wear) but the internals are top notch.

In 6 months they'll cost even more. The 5906s will eventually dry up, then you'll pay $450 for one in crap condition. Spend the $20 and get a nice one while they're around.

    North Dakota soon...
Is it worth the extra $20 for the excellent condition?

They are all the same condition. You pay extra for the box. I paid for the "excellent" condition 5906 off of CDNN and had to send it to S&W for repair. I've seen some on the Smith-Wesson forums guys getting the cheaper option and getting a pristine gun. Buy one now, that's for sure. People are realizing these guns are awesome, only about fifteen years too late.

I've got a 6906 I bought a few years ago, and love it.

Now I'm thinking of getting a 5906 to match it.:draw:

    They are great pistols.

Yep the ones I saw at Bradis a while back were pretty beat up. Still Would consider it. All the internals are cheap. Barrel is 100 buck @ Midway. Thinking about going back and trying to pick up a 6906 to go with my 5906.

The 59 and it's offspring were standard issue to Ill.state police for many years. As one
Of them commented..."yes it rattles and it's not the most accurate gun,but it goes bang every time.
Only breakage I ever heard of was a sear...it turned to full auto....till it ran out.
    I'd have one.

I have a 5906 in great condition I bought from arms list for $350, I liked it so well I bought a 6906 from ITP. They are a great pistol for the money, I would buy one soon before they are harder to find cheap.
