So 5% of the defense budget does not account replacement of weapons and ammo.
We do not store large stockpiles of expensive stuff. We cannot even come up with 33 M1 tanks.
Our 155 ammo is so short that in the event of a large war. The Army might have cut one or two cannons out of each Battery.
We have taken M777 Cannons away from units to equip the Ukrainians. Guess what the M777 is a state of the art piece. It’s meant for targeted attacks that require fewer rounds.
It‘s breaking down at a unreal rate and will be ineffective soon. It’s not designed for a WW1 trench war.
The Ukrainians are running out of ammo for Tanks and Artillery. There is only so much
Russian ammo in the free world. We could buy it from China?
