I got stuck driving down Shelbyville road from Thompson almost all the way home behind a small SUV only occasionally making it up to 30mph, when he could manage to keep it between the lines. It was after midnight and the roads were empty. I just spent 6 hours going to NWI and back, and just wanted to get to bed. Still, rather than play the part of an automotive proctologist, I got just close enough to still be safe (which at 25-30mph isn’t that far away) and made the trip with my hazards blinking the whole time, like I was a warning escort vehicle. It did nothing to correct this poor driving, but inexplicably kept me entertained.
    ¯\_( ツ)_/¯
Don't you guys have some variation of 1-800-GRABDUI? Because it sure sounds like you had a customer

    Near the big river.
I saw a red VW car sitting with the frame on the rails near Borden several hundred yards from any crossing, such that all 4 wheels were at least a foot above the ground. It's like they had parked across the rails near a crossing and then pushed the car sideways up the rails?
Live in Borden, saw this multiple times. Did service work for a company near the tracks thru town. Have a friend who owns a business next to one of the crossings. Big signs at the crossing warning trucks to not use it, they will high center. He kept the railroad on speed dial. I saw this at least a dizen times.

Only time it was really serious was when a beer truck got stuck!!!

Schools have nothing to do with it. How are they supposed to fix kids who have not been parented correctly when they only see them a couple hrs a day?

    Don
Mrs. Bugs worked as an assistant for several years in the schools. The things she observed were shocking. You are wrong about the schools, but I do agree with the lack of parenting. Note, not 100% of the school, nor 100% of the parents are covered by my opinions.

It’s hard to separate them in a short post attempt to make a point about these serious issues as both deserve pages of examples and ways to rectify them.
It all starts at home. And is based in the same. There in you will find the poisons in our society. Crap ass parents doing their own indoctrination to the kids. They vote crap (if at all) and bitchen the loudest especially when called in their crap lifestyles and how it effects the kids. Hell I could go in for pages about this.

I think the incident I saw, I suspect was some sort of prank/stunt.

That crossing across from the barrel yard is the worst, but this was closer to the water company.

The crossing I'm closest to, just this past summer, a guy pulling an empty lowboy trailer went over it and it pulled his trailer apart.

It's to the point where you have to have a camera if you drive like you have some sense...

You have to PROVE YOUR INNOCENCE,
That you weren't doing anything wrong, illegal or stupid...
The completely self absorbed sociopath will lie with their last breath when what they were doing goes wrong.

I don't see it as a driving issue,
I see it as a decline in morals, ethics, manners, and just plain common sense.
It's happening everywhere, in all social interactions, business, common areas, anywhere people interact.

If someone cuts me off in traffic, I just make following distance simply because I don't know what stupid/crazy that driver is going to inflict on people around them next...

    *I* am NOT *Special*,
I'm no more 'Important' than anyone else.
The rules apply to me just like everyone else.

I am NOT some self appointed "Avenging Angel" there to 'Punish' anyone for 'Precieved', or actual violations.

I'm NOT going to intentionally create a dangerous situation because my ego got bruised.
Someone doing something stupid is NOT a challenge for me to 'Top' their stupid/dangerous actions.

    .........

If you want the social/mental aspect of this,
There are a BUNCH of hand gestures to show annoyance/disrespect/insult to other drivers...
We all know the shaken fist, middle finger, finger gun ect.

Exactly what is the hand gesture for,
    "I'm sorry",
    "My fault",
    "Glad you are OK"...

    Did you think of any?

Narcissists/Sociopaths won't be able to think of any since they don't take responsibility for any of their actions and certainly wouldn't apologize for their actions unless forced to under threat of punishment, like false apologizes to judges trying to get lighter sentences.

That would be the correct personality disorder terms.
I'm aware they have become somewhat of 'Buzz Words' in the recent past,
But I'm talking strictly clinical definitions.

See the Sociopathy Scale tests mental health professionals use.
It rates a person in 20 to 40 traits narcissists/sociopaths/psychopaths have in common (including lying in the test).

Narcissist, Extreme Narcissist, Sociopath in ascending order.

These are the people that are taught, or learn by experience, the personality disorder increases as they get away with more & more.

    .......

Psychopaths are born void of 'Normal' conscience or empathy,
Or in some cases, brain trauma/damage removes the empathic abilities.

It's a pretty interesting field of research, and it helps me when dealing with the ever increasing number of narcissists/sociopaths that are feeding off each other, escalating and self radicalizing.
