Well...without all the drama. Son dropped me off at Laketon Eel River and floated down to St. Rd. 15 where he was to drop off my truck. Great trip and saw bald eagle, the crane a farmer got stuck in river 8 months ago that looks like its there to stay. Stop by a island and had cookout of deer stew and biscuits, then nap in hammock. Then got down to St. Rd. 15 and pulled up kayak and went to get my truck and met the Wabash Sheriff and a deputy asking if that was my blue truck.....yes....when did I park it there? I said I didn't, my son did. (At this point always deflect blame towards another, the son is expendable at this point). When did my son park it there? This is your truck? You have ID on you? Where is your son now? At this point I'm wondering what my son did with my truck. Then asked if I know anything about that blue car by my truck about 15 yds away. They said they need to talk to my son. I said he lives just over there I can call him.....so at this point I'm throwing my son under the bus and hitting reverse...LOL. I called and said he needs to come down, Sheriff wants to talk to him about something, my son says ok and Sheriff tells him he's not in trouble......ya right. I wanted to yell "run!!!" into the speaker phone...LOL. So I hung up wondering still what my son did...thats when the Sheriff said there was a dead body in the car.....yikes.....all I could say was, are you serious !!??? They just wanted to know how long the car with body had been there. I told him he knew my son....he was the one awhile back that did a citizen arrest and held a fugitive at gun point that was armed with 2 handguns on him, my son got the draw on him 1st. He said he sure did know him. My son arrived and got all cleared then told my son about the dead body. The car had been there when he got there. Thats all I know and didn't ask any questions figuring they wouldn't answer at this point. Son showed up with his Glock on him and I had mine concealed. Nobody cared. Shook hands with the Sheriff and that was the end of the trip and story.
