The assembly videos from Brownells are what I used when I built my first AR. They would probably help with most repairs.

There are many youtube videos out there. Just type in AR15 disassembly and 100's will pop up. They will tell, and show you what tools you need.

punch kit usually is all you need...allen screws..and a vise mount for upper and lower

There's a kit from Wheeler that has everything you need to build an AR. It even comes in its own tote bag.

You broke it? How? Were you using it to drive nails into concrete?

AR15.com has some great information as well. To work on your own about all you need is a punch. A hand guard removal tool. Not much needed really.
The AR platform is so versatile. So much you can do with it. Have fun !
