I just snaked out two pair of underwear and at least one depends. The toilet was not flushing right.

Is is there a screen or larger plumbing trap I can install on the four inch waste line from the toilet? It appears they are flushing more than they should at times.

Any ideas or or product help would be great.

    Don't flush them.

Contrary to what the box/bag/package says, they AREN'T flushable!

I work in a hospital and our plumbers are constantly pulling all types of "flushable" items out of the sewer lines. To prove the point they've taken samples of each of these products and sent them out to be tested and they ARE NOT biodegradable in a time frame that prevents clogging.

Exactly! ^ I take care of a girls dorm and they flush many things down..no depends but cell phones are a popular item! Back pocket, pop a squat and splash auto flush toilet.

I am not aware of a collection product that can be installed down stream of the trap. I certainly would not wish to be selected to maintain its function. Stopping the source is the only solution.

Are your pipes metal or plastic? If you can wait overnight and have plastic then you could try sulfuric acid . Can get it most anywhere but I know the blue roof store has it. This is MEAN stuff. Follow directions. It will chew on anything in that pipe till it moves on down. Might have to check local code too. They may not allow it in the sewer system.

They make drain cleaner that is acid based that will eat most everything including pipes that are in not very good condition.. And it will clear a building pretty quickly.. I know this for a fact.;)
It's mean stuff be careful using it.
