Other than "justice", what do they want?
Loot/pillage/disrupt/destroy.
We want justice...........they want to act out.

Right. But what do they think will be caused to happen? What wrong will be righted? Prosecuting a person whom did nothing wrong, is not justice it's vengence.
(I'm not arguing with you CM, just thinking out loud---virtually).
I know that.
They are not looking for justice in this. Like with other issues we have seen recently they use this as a bully pulpit to rally around the campfire......unfortunately the camp fire is the local business district after it is stripped of all value.
Probably both literally and figuratively...
Strip it and burn it is the underlying battle cry. It is unfortunate but seems to be true.
I have heard them lament their voices are not being heard among their city leaders; "they" are not responsive to their needs; and similar complaints. I read/heard that something like 40% of the residents of Ferguson voted in the past election. I wondered what the percentage of those demanding change/justice or whatever they're agitating for, voted. If they want to change their leadership to better mirror the majority of the residents, then the majority needs to step up and get nominated and vote for their leaders.

Wow.
With percentages like that it's a pretty safe bet that the majority of the rioters could care less about politics and change. They are more interested in all the free stuff they're going to get at the expense of innocent business owners.
