    While the P365 is a solid (and popular) choice, there isn't "a" single preferred pistol. All the major manufacturers (i.e. Glock, SIG, S&W, Ruger etc.) make decent offerings. Much depends on your desires, wants, needs, limitations, capabilities, budget, etc. There isn't a single pistol for "concealed carry" since "concealed carry" isn't a single, monolithic thing.

    Where did I say the 365 is the single preferred pistol?

    A lot of different ideas here??

    Most all here will tell you to try many different models..Usually an indoor range will have rental guns for this purpose. This is a great option.

    For me--I have many selections for my carry piece. I will NOT carry one of my $800-1000.00 Safe Queens.
    I look at a carry gun as a "Tool"= something that will work, and work EVERY time.
    In WORST case, I KNOW also that if my weapon is used in a Defense situation, I probably?? will not get it back from the "Court System", or Law Enforcement in a reasonable time=If EVER.
    If my weapon does come back, it will NOT have been cared for properly.

    ^^^For these reasons, I usually carry a Glock-usually in 9MM==G-26 or a G-19.

    As always--You KNOW what opinions are like??...Bill.

    1) choose a name brand maker
    2) choose something your edc and ergos you love
    3) choose something you WANT to
    Train a lot on

    FWIW: don’t worry about ballistics. Pistols are for getting to your long arms!

    My&P Shield 9mm. Just picked up some mag extenders that turn the 8-round mags into 10-rounds, from X tech Tactical.

    I also have a Shield though I'd like to get "okay" with carrying my 2.0 Compact.

    The P365 is interesting but I don't see me making the investment at this point. The Shield works fine and I shoot it pretty well.
