I think i put too much oil in to stir up the veggies and the meat juices then I add it together and it's too sofgy
I cook my veggies in my marinade - 1 cup water, 1/2 cup soy sauce, 1/4 cup liquid smoke, 1/8 cup A1, 1/2 cup sugar, 1 tbsp. black pepper, 1 tsp salt, until the veggies are soft and caramelized.

Edit: I don't use all the marinade to cook the veggies. Just enough to be a little less than 1/4" deep in the cast iron skillet. It cooks down until there's really no liquid left. Just a thick "syrup".
