My main goal today is to find lots of fresh stuff at the Farmer's Market.I need to go to the produce stand and stock up on my preserves. Just used the last of my jalapeno cherry. All I have left are a couple of jalapeno peach and 1 jar of apple butter.
FtFyUsed to not be exhausted at 9 AM.
Apple butter/ apple sauce are both surprisingly easy to make.My main goal today is to find lots of fresh stuff at the Farmer's Market.
Of course, if my BBQ guys are there, I'll grab some BBQ pulled pork.
I went a little late last week and my favorite corn family was done and gone.
Not today!
I also need apple butter. Not only is it expensive as fine jewelry, it has become rare to see, even at these prices.
A brick place up the road used to sell some from Goshen, claimed to be from an Amish community, but he hasn't had any in over a year.
Of course Kroger has Musselman, if I want apple sauce with little cinnamon in it.
Check out Phillips Produce at Southport and 135. They sell apple butter and preserves from Pat's Gnaw Bone Sorghum Mill and it's excellent! My main goal today is to find lots of fresh stuff at the Farmer's Market.

They also have jalapeno strawberry, jalapeno raspberry and jalapeno blackberry. I like to use their jalapeno peach as a glaze for pork loin.Never tried the jalapeno cherry preserves. Sounds good.
Another one I have not seen in a while, one of my favorites, is the jalapeno pecan coffee flavor.
Yum!
Time?Apple butter/ apple sauce are both surprisingly easy to make.
