Last evening just before dark had 3 young coons at end of seawall playing. Adult eating off ground under bird feeders. Luckily both dogs were asleep and didn’t notice. This morning big dog wanted me to get up and let her out at early light but didn’t. Finally did about 5:55. Coon out by shoreline. She tore out and treed it. Hour and a half later still lying there waiting for it to come down.

I absolutely despise coons. I will set up the live trap out and see if I can catch some before my corn starts. I usually kill 5 or 6 every year and then they leave stuff alone. Easier than putting up the electric fence.

We used to have some females that would hang out in there (other than our Mod Mom)... not sure why they all left...

A sick coon I eliminate on sight. Beyond that at this stage and place in life, if they aren’t causing harm they get a pass. In my previous life wasnt always so. Older I get, softer I get…live and let live. Except groundhogs and muskrats.

They will wipe out half my corn in one night, so... that is a no go for me.
