Going to put this here, because I know what everyone’s first thought is.
Well, not everyone.
Going to put this here, because I know what everyone’s first thought is.
"Everybody," in this instance, means the news media. They have moved on because Trump was the intended victim. If ANY Democrat had been shot at, it would be mentioned in every news cast from time of the event to election day. Additionally, the shooting would be blamed on Republican Hate Speech and White Supremacists. Not everyone rec'd the script. That allows for denial. I'm glad to see that individual LEOs that didn't rec'v the script attempted to do their job (security). The USSS, not so much.
A guy with a backpack, range finder, drone, ladder and a gun positioned himself next to law enforcement and got several shots popped off at a presidential rally. And four weeks later everybody has moved on as if it never happened or didn't matter. If that is a sign of the times, we're in some crazy times.
Someone up thread phrased it best, I think: was the incompetence because an assassination attempt was't prevented, or was it incompetence because the assassination attempt failed.
Just like "mass" shootings."Everybody," in this instance, means the news media. They have moved on because Trump was the intended victim. If ANY Democrat had been shot at, it would be mentioned in every news cast from time of the event to election day. Additionally, the shooting would be blamed on Republican Hate Speech and White Supremacists.

I saw a "news report" today that explained how "authorities" are overly concerned about retaliatory attacks on the Democratic convention.Just like "mass" shootings.
Push it, unless it's against their narrative
Well.. duhI saw a "news report" today that explained how "authorities" are overly concerned about retaliatory attacks on the Democratic convention.
They will not admit that it is THEIR followers that do this ****, NOT conservatives.
New video? Just released on this channel a new body cam view of shooter running on the roof and his path.
Stabilized video of shooter throwing his backpack on the roof and LEO vehicles converging, over 4 minutes prior to shots fired.
They'll need to check their bwc before you get their report. Accuracy and all that.It would be good to have our INGO LE contingent weigh in for perspective, but does anyone else perceived a strange lack of urgency once LE sees someone on the roof moving toward a vantage point of the rally. Don't know if it was an unfortunate case of normalcy bias or maybe assuming the sniper teams will take care of the threat, but I just seems odd, granted with the benefit of hindsight, to see the several officers walking instead of running and only a couple trying to access the roof. I would assume LE on the AGR property were aware how close those buildings were to the rally and could put two and two together that this guy was moving on a roof toward a prime vantage point of the protectee. For those of you that have worked highly secured events, would you expect this to be a normal response?
If I were a LEO, and I am most definitely not, I think in that scenario my first assumption would be that someone had figured out the roof would give them a vantage point to see president trump. A supporter simply decided to go up there to watch the president speak. They'll need to check their bwc before you get their report. Accuracy and all that.
Ok, unwarranted cheapshot. Mostly. I mean, at what point will the local PD and individual LEOs go on record with specific failures, and assign fault for those specific failures?
To me, untrained, it looks as if individual Leo's are truly attempting to reconcile the situation, albeit without a sense of urgency one might expect in such a scenario. There may well be an explanation for the casual approach but it doesn't seem obvious.
It could simply be that no other issue was raised beyond suspicious person reports. If the cops just start blasting and it turns out they dropped a plain-closed goody on that roof....
There were a lot of moving parts, allowing for plenty of opportunities for honest mistakes. But it's been a month. How'bout A. Basic. ****ing. Report?

To be clear, I'm in no way saying they should have lit the guy up for simply traversing the rooftops, but it would seem more urgency was appropriate if you saw someone sprinting to a rooftop with a view of the stage Trump was standing on 150yds away. That fact he had a large backpack in tow makes the lack of urgency even more puzzling. If I were a LEO, and I am most definitely not, I think in that scenario my first assumption would be that someone had figured out the roof would give them a vantage point to see president trump. Until the point where citizens started pointing out that he had a firearm there would have been little legitimate reason for panic. Concern, awareness, but not panic that the president was being put in danger.
Until the rifle was identified the response would likely have been, so you're not supposed to be up there please come down now. You assess the individual give him a talking to about he could have been seen as a potential threat and send him on his way.
In late May of this year, an erratic man was able to infiltrate and spend at least one night in the Miami Field Office, according to four sources familiar with the incident.
Some agents working out in the gym violated office policy by propping open the door to help ventilate the room. A man in shorts and a t-shirt entered through that partially opened door, and no one noticed. The man, identified as Ashtyn Domenech by one knowledgeable source, apparently found the “bunk room,” took a shower, and fell asleep in a bed overnight, sources said.
Domenech accessed computers on an open internet line and downloaded and watched porn, according to two sources familiar with the trespassing incident.
The next morning, Domenech asked administration staff where he “could get a cup of coffee around here,” and the employees responded by fulfilling his request for coffee without realizing he didn’t belong there, the sources said. He then ventured into a class on defensive tactics that a supervisor was teaching. The supervisor confronted him about his identity and apprehended him.
They're still trying to get him killed by weakening his security. They put all the DEI hires on his SS detail. These idiots just walk off their posts without notice for personal business. They're doing this crap on purpose. Weaken security on Trump, hoping one of their assassins will finally get the job done. Meanwhile, I'm sure if he comes down on them for their incompetence, then he gets bad press for slamming a breast feedingmother, oh, I'm sorry... "birthing person". DEI strikes again.
