I suspect the departed thug might say it was rather cool on the roof compared to the standard temp in his new home.Yes, that steel roof was hot, by any standard.

It would be interesting to know if someone in the SS requested that building to be included, and secured, and was told it was not possible due to lack of manpower, authority etc.Yep. All of that. But, though I don't fault the sniper for not taking the shot sooner. We don't see what he saw. We just see what we see and imagination takes over from there. Like I said, I don't think the sniper shot until he could see what he was shooting. Judging from the perps rearanged dentistry, I'd say he hit what he shot at.
My questions are about why that building wasn't included in the security zone. And it seems the snipers on the barn had eyes on for at least many seconds before the shooter fired, that word could have gone out on the radio. Maybe not in time to stop the shooting, but I'm a bit disappointed that secret service wasn't moving until several seconds after shots fired and the former President dropped down.
The "read headed MAGA extremist holding a beer" said he thought it was a couple minutes after he saw the guy get up on the roof until the shots were fired. But when stuff like that's happening, seconds might seem more like minutes.I think we can agree that the SS didn't act fast enough (since the killer managed to fire at least 8 shots), but still pretty fast.
I really don't know how long it took from the moment the killer was spotted crawling on the rooftop, to the moment Trump's closest bodyguards rushed the stage. 10 seconds? 30? One minute? I have no idea.
Nosir. This is a family friendly site. If you’re going to post something like that, either needs to be linked, or using the spoiler button to hide the images to a casual browser. It’s also a gun forum. If a little blood or gore (i.e. reality) upsets people, maybe they should take up basket weaving and join that site!
He was escorted off the playground for a bit. We are all watching an assassination attempt in real time, everyone is on edge. Not the time for his usual bomb-throwing troll BS.I started to tag @LeftyGunner to see if he had chimed in expressing his disappointment in the shooter's aim, but it appears that he's no longer here? Did he get banned?
Ah, he appears to be a "Shooter" himself now.
I was thinking the same thing. Maybe secret service only had a couple of snipers. And they put them on that roof.It would be interesting to know if someone in the SS requested that building to be included, and secured, and was told it was not possible due to lack of manpower, authority etc.
I suspect the POTUS gets virtually unlimited protection depending on need. But, local police departments were involved. Not sure how well a podunk town like Butler PA's police department is equipped to handle it. Maybe they don't have the manpower to have extended the security zone to include that building.Do they get to close a larger perimeter when it comes to protecting the president, vs a presidential candidate and former president? I assume they have to deal with a smaller security detail.
Also did the SS sniper spotted a man crawling on a nearby rooftop, or a man armed with a rifle crawling on a nearby rooftop?
I assume they don't shoot right away at anyone they spot until they are clearly a threat, and produce a weapon.
Lots of questions.
Again, we agree. This matter needs to be fully explained. The only difference is that I choose to believe there is something wrong, somewhere, until proven otherwise. You choose to believe there is nothing wrong until proven otherwise. Both of us, and a $#!T-ton of other people are waiting for the same thing: answers and evidence.Idunno man. Seems like you're eager to make it more than what we actually see. Belief without evidence is faith. I'd like to reserve belief until I know more. Gimme a better reason besides "sides" to believe something. What you're saying could be true. That's not good enough reason to believe something as if fact.
I like that better than the policy INGO used to roll with.Nosir. This is a family friendly site. If you’re going to post something like that, either needs to be linked, or using the spoiler button to hide the images to a casual browser.
Violent and bloody stuff like that needs to require the user to positively click through to see it.
I thought about that. Hearing it on the video, it didn't sound like what you hear when you're there live. Who knows what filtering they have on the microphones to eliminate noises from the crowd to focus on the speaker.Anyone else think the audio was strange? Like you don't hear the sound of the bullets and you should they're right by the microphone and they should have been supersonic. Maybe 300blk subsonic?
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seenBelief without evidence is faith. I'd like to reserve belief until I know more.
I had that verse in mind when I posted. Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen
Yep. He got mouthy behind the scenes with staff. 30 days.Who knows. He may have been cautioned to tread lightly behind the scenes by a mod and he didn't take kindly to it would be my guess as to why the "Shooter" tag was bestowed upon him.
That guy claimed he saw the shooter climbing the ladder with a rifle. And then moments later the guy shot Trump. The guy must have had a phone. Why didn't he video the shooter going up the ladder? And video him telling authorities and them not doing anything? At this point it's just his word.
I would be also curious to know how many people were on rooftops around the perimeter at that time. Just watching or taking pictures.Yeah, I think what we don't know is a lot more than we do know. Like I said before, we imagine the rest.
Allegedly. That definitely looked like he soaked his hair in carrot juice.Plus he's a ginger......
I fired a Glock 30, inches away from my phone while speaking to my wife, she didn't hear a thing on her side. The electronics are probably self-protecting. Not the same situation but may lend light?I thought about that. Hearing it on the video, it didn't sound like what you hear when you're there live. Who knows what filtering they have on the microphones to eliminate noises from the crowd to focus on the speaker.
I think several people here watch Outdoors with the Morgans youtube channel. He lives near Butler PA, and was there at the rally. He did a live stream last night about it. He said the gunshots were loud and very distinguishable as gunshots, even though a lot of people around him thought it was fireworks.
