I inquired about the uppers a couple months ago and found that a GB for uppers would be logistically un-wise when you can simply click to order one (stripped for $109.95) on BCI's web store. A GB may save a few bux on shipping but coordinating the distribution would negate that savings.

My thoughts as well. So scratch the upper GB idea and lets proceed with the INGO dust cover idea.

It has taken awhile, but Ingo #63 is finally ready to head to the range. I am pretty cheap, which is why it took so long because I watched for sales, was willing to get some used parts where I didn't think it would matter, whatever it took to pinch pennies. Final cost was $979, which might not sound cheap, but consider that the first thing purchased after the lower was a Geisselle trigger. Now that I can finally dry-fire it, I am very, very pleased with the trigger. This is also the first scope I have ever owned after 30 years of shooting, but my eyes aren't what they used to be so I figured it was time to give one a try. If nothing else, I will have fun learning something new.

When the second group buy receivers come through it will be my first build, and I'm not sure the upper I want exists.

Does anyone know if there is a flat top upper manufactured with dust cover but without cartridge deflector or forward assist?

To my knowledge I don't think such an animal exists. I may be wrong though as the industry is continuously bringing in new products. VLTOR has a nice billet upper without FA and some make a slick side upper but I don't think it has the provisions to support a dust cover.
