Went to Missouri on a huntin trip this past weekend and got my first bow kill deer. It was a small yearling doe that will be great eating, and even though she wasn't big it was great to finally put an arrow through one.
That sucks! I had a stand stolen last year by a couple kids. They were dumb enough to steal it and walk straight across the field to their house, with a fresh layer of snow on the ground!
I have always been a Hoyt owner. But after shooting a Mathews Z7. I think I'll be in the market for one, for next season. Man, their smooth and quite. Real quite.
Sorry to hear about the stolen stand Hickman that sucks! I shot the snot out of my Matthews bow last weekend, I love it! Now to get some time in the woods.
There's no room in this world for people who steal stands...sorry you've had two taken. Best of luck this year -- definitely starting to see more movement!
saw a nice 8 this morning that I would have taken. It was the biggest I've seen while hunting in over 2 years but could not get him in under 50 yards. (thats part of what makes a bow hunt so special though, especially a successful one). Hopefully he will still be there tomorrow morning!
This is one the many reasons as to why I use a climber. Its hard to steal from when Im sitting in it or its in my Tahoe. Not too mention I can move and be up a tree in minutes. Action seems to be picking up. Night before I had a 3 pointer come to my grunt call and he was really interested. I could of drilled him within 5 yards of the tree I was in but I had to pass. See him in 2 or 3 years! This afternoon I went to my burn pile and chased up 2 nice size deer within 15 yards of my burnpile. Went out about 415pm today and didnt see anything but the weather was right and the wind was perfect. Sneaking out in the morning.
Saw 2 little ones this a.m. got home around 11 a.m. and at 12:10 pm there is a nice 6 pt. out in the field behind my house strutting around.....maybe I better get back out there before this sleet and snow hits tonight.
