Why the bathtub?Looks like it blew past here. Godalmighty winds.
Of course, blew the power out for a few minutes.
I thought about running for the bathtub.
Powers back on, and now the thunder started.

Well, I don't have one anyway, so the safest place is my bathroom. It's a small, central room in the house that is not on an outside wall.Unless you reinforce a spot, a basement is a spot the house falls in, and becomes your grave.
You need a section reinforced with 4x4s.
Or.. a small basement. Don't go under the whole house.
Why the bathtub?
OK, makes sense.bathtub is a safer place in a ground floor with no shelter.
beams fall across the tub, tub protects you.
Unless one spears into the top.
It's not the best option.OK, makes sense.
You should have kept your submarine and put it in the back yard. That would be a great place. It's not the best option.
I'd like one of those manufactured shelters.
But... I don't have one.

At least one big tree across the street down, heading to work soon... sounds like town is a F-ing mess.Everybody OK? Power? No power? I haven't driven around, but I heard south Crown Point got beat up pretty bad. Nothing serious in my neighborhood (which is in south Crown Point).
Opinions are like a—h——. Everyone has one!I can come over some time if you want opinions or help
That was the rain we got last week. Are these storms all from the hurricane?
I watched from the patio until it started raining, then watched the rest through the sliding door.I went out on our upstairs porch and watched.
Didn't seem like much tonight.
We got much worse last night and yesterday morning.
